Scuderia Filipinetti was one of the most prestigious private racing stables in the world. The Swiss motor racing team competed in sports car racing between 1962 and 1973. It was founded by Georges Filipinetti to support Swiss driver Jo Siffert, but employed many other legendary drivers including Jim Clark, Phil Hill, and Ronnie Peterson. The team ran more than a hundred cars in the unmistakably recognizable, red and white livery. I was asked to work on a proposal for a brand revival.
Given the brand's fantastic heritage, building an inventory of all the cars was self-evident. I have started a series of realistic illustration, always showing the side view of the car. I dug into the archives looking for photographs, in order to accurately place the correct stickers and accessories on every car for each race.
the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 made its Le Mans debut in 1968 and returned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans five more times – consecutively – until 1973, a record that remains unbroken by any single chassis.
No brand guidelines were ever defined and the logotype, as well as the emblem, always seemed to differ from a race to another. This brand revival was a unique opportunity to give a clear identity to the brand, with a contemporary twist, whilst sticking as close as possible to past elements.
